Success Story: Electrical Engineers also undertake

PMENERGY is a relatively new Company which started it operations in 2013. Electric projects are their main product, but they also offer other services to the community.
The idea began when an entrepreneur couple decided to invest in their own business. They started this dream with a little investment but after 2 years ago they can see and feel that their dream now is true.
Melissa: Why did you decide to start up your own business? Did you find it difficult? Why? Why not?
David: We decide to enter into this business because we wanted to have something that we can say “we create this” and basically that is the main reason of why we decide to create our company. This is a goal that we have had for a long time and currently we can feel proud and grateful of being the company that we are now.
We can also say that it was difficult for us in the first stage; we need to obtain recognition and gain loyalty from our clients.
M: Why did you choose this market?
D: I am an Electric Engineer so I know about processes and my wife knows the financial part, I think that we are a perfect match, aren´t we? (Laughs). Basically we decided to start our company because we know how to develop ourselves in this market and also because we wanted our own autonomy.
M: What were your goals when you decided to start this business?
D: To become a committed company that provides quality services. A company that understand customer needs and also a firm that transmit their core values (respect and responsibility) in every kind of stages of the business.
M: How did you measure the feasibility of your business?
D: Satisfaction of the customer, how people react to our services, prices, number of sales / invoice and also financial indicators of course.
M: How did you finance your business?
D: With personal investment and bank loans. We started with a desk and a computer, now we have our own office, equipment and so on.
M: How do you visualize yourself in the next 5 years?
D: I think that I will be more committed to my business, trying to understand better the necessities of the market, understand problems of the economy and trying to deal with them. I strongly believe that this is not only an effort of one person, is the effort of everybody who supported for that reason, everything that I have achieved is not only my effort, is the passion and responsibility of all the group members.
M: What are your strengths and weaknesses?
D: Our biggest strength is understand customer behavior, being charming with your clients, give them quality and trying to be on time; sometimes there are some externalities which affect the correct functionality of your business but we need to understand how to deal with that. Weaknesses, economic and political facts, lack of experience in some situations or processes but that is part of this business, you don’t know everything and day by them you learn something new which would help you in the future.
